Bruce Hainley is the author of, most recently, Under the Sign of [sic]: Sturtevant’s Volte-Face, published by Semiotext(e). Co-Chair of the Graduate Art program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and a contributing editor of Artforum, he co-curated, in 2015, with Antony Hudek, "Larry Johnson: On Location" for Raven Row, the first European survey of Johnson’s work, and edited Commie Pinko Guy, a fully illustrated, portable reader about the artist, to accompany it.
Quijote Talks take place in our library on 21st Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues in Chelsea, usually on Thursdays at 6:30 pm. Named after our favorite after-lecture hangout, El Quijote in the Chelsea Hotel, and inspired by the knight errant himself, this new series consists of pointed talks and discussions about relevant pasts and possible futures.
